Shower for Emma

Today we had a shower for Baby Emma Wilhoite, coming around September 11 (i think sep 9). We had decided it would be fun to include the boys in on the day. Crystal thought it would be fun for JC to get a turn at opening presents. let me just tell you what a mistake that was. I will explain later.
We started off with a delicious lunch made by Mom and Auntie Jo. It was your typical Wilhoite meal; loud, lots of laughing, stories, and so yummy.

Then-- it was game time! I made the disclaimer that EVERYONE had to play. I knew Matt would try to get out of it, so might as well make everyone play. We had two games. The poopy diaper game, which was melted candy bars in a diaper. You have to smell them and guess what they are. NOT TASTE THEM, JC!

The second game was name the baby food. Who knew that a) there were so many different baby foods and b) some of them smelt so bad. The dreaded #4 jar made me gag. I thought for sure I was going to lose my lunch.

JC won the candy bar game, and Annie and Rachel tied for the baby food game. Congrats!!!
So now it is time to open presents. And this has been appointed JC's job. So he takes literally as long as he can, to open each one. He slowly opens each card, reads every word. places back in the envelope. Slowly unwraps the presents, careful not to tear the paper. He pulls out each piece, one by one, and then tests it out. If you know JC, you know how this whole thing went. He even put the whole high chair together. He claims he did it for all the 'other boys', so that they wont ever be asked to open shower gifts again. I think he succeeded.

Needless to say, it was very entertaining and a lot of fun. Having boys there made it a lot more interesting and not the typical baby shower!
