Meeting the Govenor

As soon as they could sign up, our kids were ready to get the Covid vaccine. They were ready to get protected, start doing things again, and venture out into what we hoped would be normalcy. We signed them up for a clinic ran by the health department that i was working. Philip brought them in and i picked a friend to give them their shots. They both did so good and we were so proud of them!
A month or so later Philip was asked to “represent St Claire” at the capitol. It was very much downplayed when he agreed to it but he quickly came to find out it was a much bigger deal than he thought. He was told 2 nights before that he needed a speech prepared and that he would be introduced by the governor. I scrambled to find dress shoes that fit the kids and figure out outfits for all of us. Which all went out the window bc i planned for an outdoor event and it rained the whole day and was moved inside.
Govenor Beshear was so welcoming and normal and easy to talk to. He was so sweet to our kids.
Parker jumped right in and asked if he could hold his shield. He had each child sit at his desk , gave them their own pen, and let them “sign a bill”.
As you can see Parker had no problem getting comfortable.

Philip gave an amazing speech commemorating the lives lost in KY due to Covid. It was well written and well given and we were so proud of him.i was so afraid parker would fall out of his seat or scream in the middle of the ceremony. He managed to make it through with only a few pen marks on their white covered fancy seats.
The day they were eligible they got their second vaccine and again, took it like champs!
We feel so good protecting them as best as we can.
I can say that I am one proud wife and one proud momma.
