Baby Shower!!!

This Sunday Aunt Ellen hosted an absolutely fabulous Baby Shower for us.
It was mostly Mom's teacher friends, Joy's friends and aunts and great grandma:)
She thought of so many cute details! and the food was soo good. So good everyone wanted a doggy bag of left overs:)
Mom and Rachel went over early that morning to help decorate and put things together (i have some awesome family)
the flag to put outside (and that I get to keep! ) Thanks Mom!!!
Here are some pictures of the guests at the party. We had a big turn out and I was so appreciate of everyone who took time out of their day to celebrate Ainsley :)

And the awkward pics of me opening presents:)
it says 'RN or MD' haha thanks Joy!

We got so spoiled. Ainsley got some adorable things. some bought and some handmade (which always means so much!). Philip and I were so excited when we brought everything home and went through everything.
our travel system!!! philip was such a good dad and put it together while I was busy puking in the bathroom:(
the favors for everyone! beautiful flowers in a super cute pink pot:)
the poem attached with each flower:)
We had such a good time. It was so nice to get to visit with mom's friends and meet so many of Joy's. Philip's Aunt Deb came all the way down from Michigan just for the shower! The family that didn't make it sent her some very thoughtful and adorable presents. Ainsley is so loved that it warms my heart in so many ways. She has an awesome family that is so excited to meet her. and so many family friends that are in line to babysit and love on her too:)

Thank you to everyone who came, visited and showered us with gifts and love. and Thank you Aunt Ellen for everything that you did. I know it was a lot of work (but so awesome for your first ever shower!)

31 weeks

We are down to the single digits in our weekly countdown! 9 to go!

size:  if you hold 4 navel oranges in your hand, that is as big as she is this week :) she is up to almost 4 pounds! and around 19 inches long.

what is going on with Ainsley: she is constantly tapping in there. she doesnt kick as much as she moves her head and arms (which being head makes for very odd sensations). but when she does kick- yowza! her little feet are way up near my ribs and it literally makes me jump :) Baby's digestive system is set and ready to start handling milk:) She is gaining more and more fat and her skin is no longer opaque. She has normal sleep cycles now. She really doesn't keep me up with her movements at night.

what's going on with me: well, I will tell you what isn't going on with me. sleep! If I go more than an hour straight without having to get up to pee, I consider it a huge success. and even if I dont have to pee, I just can't sleep. and when I don't sleep well, it leads to morning sickness for me. so I have had several rough mornings this week. but its ok:) I am surviving and AJ is growing:)
I am carrying her pretty high. It makes it hard to breathe :)
Philip was off several days this week, that turned out to be beautiful weather. We took Jax on a walk several times and it feels so good to be able to exercise. Even if it takes me much longer than normal:)
thanks for the fun shirt, Dale!
cravings: fruit. finally something healthy! haha

Baby Shower :) :)

Saturday my good friends from college hosted a fabulous shower for me.
I was blown away by the wonderful food, thoughtful and detailed decorations, and the company (best part). I woke up sick and was so afraid I was going to be puking through my shower. But I was able to take some medicine, lay back down and felt 100 times better by 11:00am:)

First let me show off the decorations :

favors for each person to take home
Ainsley's first tree! with her name on the pink tree skirt!!! love.
It was mostly friends from college but I had some other friends come as well. And of course my mom and Aunt Ellen came:)
the lovely hostesses

Ainsley (and I) got spoiled rotten.

Thank you to each one of you who hosted, came or were there in spirit. It was such a wonderful day and I am still feeling so blessed by the love that is shown to our baby girl who hasn't even made her appearance yet:)

30 weeks!!

Holy Crap we are into our 30's! I can not believe how fast time has gone. I feel like it was just yesterday we were trying to determine if the faint line meant we were pregnant or not. but I guess I have blocked out a lot of the first trimester:) anyway- around 10 more weeks to go!

size: this week she is 18 inches long and 3.2 lbs. measuring as big as a head of lettuce
what's going on with Ainsley: her brain development is in overtime. she can sense with all five of her senses now. her eyesight is still developing and will continue to even after she is born. She is surrounded by a pint and a half of amniotic fluid right now.
she moves around like crazy in there and amazes me how strong her movements are.
We know from our ultrasound that she loves my placenta. her little face and hands are squished right up against it. look at how close she is
Philip says the placenta is her best friend in there:) Her hand is always on or around her face. it's the cutest little hand:)

what's going on with me: nausea and dry heaving is back. I have been pretty sick starting around 3 am and waking up to puke some mornings. luckily it seems to be just mornings for now.
I have been super tired lately, but I think a lot has to do with working 12 hour shifts. Being on your feet running for 12 hours is enough to wear anyone out. So add to that carrying a child around in your belly-- makes for long days and one tired woman (with an aching back and sore feet!)
My wedding ring still fits fine, which i am very happy about.
I have officially entered the 'freak out phase'. Philip and I will go out to lunch or make spur of the moment plans and I am thinking in the back of my head 'this won't be happening for much longer'. or I will sit down in front of the Christmas tree to read and be thinking about how little I will get to read once Ainsley comes. and while I KNOW it will be all be so worth it and I wouldnt trade her for anything in the world, I am still freaking out about how much our lives are going to change. in a good way, I know. but still. Sometimes I dont do well with change:)

4D: take two on the 4D ultrasound was much better. I drank my Diet Mt Dew, ate my Snickers and was hoping to get Ainsley all kinds of riled up. After all the caffeine and sugar she still wanted to stay snuggled in my placenta. she did move around and let us see her face though. which we loved. Philip thinks she looks like me, but I really can't make that call just yet. she is head down, which is the position you want them in for delivery. all we know is she is the cutest baby we have ever seen and we can't wait to see and hold her in person. :) not that we are biased or anything.
We got a DVD of the full 20 minute session and have watched it (and shown it off) several times. it is so crazy to see her moving around and living in there:)

cravings: spiced tea. friendship bread. York Peppermint Patties.
