Wilderness at the Smokies

About a month ago I asked my brother if he wanted to take a trip somewhere fun for the weekend. He took off planning and found us an indoor water park called Wilderness at the Smokies, in Sevierville TN. Nanny and Pop of course came too. Some snow came in late Friday night causing us to wonder what the trip down would look like, but it wasn’t as much as predicted and we made it there just fine. We had a celebratory birthday breakfast at Chik Fil A for Aunt Rachel, and we were on our way.

Once we got there we put the kids (minus A) down for naps, and then the 4 of us (plus A) went and explored. We played putt putt, bowled, and arcade games. Once everyone woke up we hit the water park! Parker loved the slides in the kids area and was on a repeated loop for a good 30 minutes.

That night we ate at the hotel restaurant and celebrated Aunt Rachels birthday. Then we went back and played more at the arcade (Philip and Matt closed it down while the rest of us went to bed). Ainsley and Anna Beth loved the bunk beds in their rooms.

We spent the morning in the water park the next morning. It wasn’t that warm so had to take breaks to warm up our blue babies. I went down the big slide with dad and Philip, and the mean boy made me go backwards so i almost had a heart attack. Ainsley enjoyed hearing me scream the whole way down and watching me pop out the bottom of the tunnel.

After naps we went to the Applewood Barn for dinner (yes Uncle bubby left the hotel). The food was so yummy and we were all stuffed. We put the kids to bed and then the 4 of us “big kids” went to the arcade to do the ropes course and play laser maze.

The next morning we played in the arcade, letting the kids climb “the big tree”, bowl, and cash in the ridiculous amount of tickets their daddies won. I was so proud of Ainsley for being brave and trying the rock wall and for following Anna Beth on the froggy ride. These 4 kids are going to be thick as thieves in a few years.

We left water logged, tired and full of happiness after spending a weekend with family. It was fun and much more enjoyable than when we did Great Wolf Lodge when Parker was 4 months old (where he slept in the bathroom and I drove around at 430am trying to get him to sleep and not wake up Ainsley).
