Big Boy Bed

Right before Christmas, Philip was putting gifts under the tree and looked up and Parker’s door was open. He went up to close it, only to find  Parker slowing pulling it open. In his zip up wearable blanket. He put him back in his crib, and we knew we were in trouble. He snuck out a few more times here and there but the past week he has consistently been getting out of his crib. Sunday morning i woke up and looked at the monitor, only to see him laying on the floor with his blanky and pillow.

Soooo Sunday after church, we took him to Target and let him pick out “big boy bedding”. He chose Thomas and was excited. In one last ditch effort, we flipped the crib around hoping to contain him for a little longer.

We thought it worked, but yesterday he was back out and kept telling me “i jump mommy” so I’m assuming his escape was not a safe one.

Last night we converted his crib to a toddler bed, and i felt my heart crack a little as we put the crib parts in the attic. We instructed him not to get out of his bed, to sleep in his bed like a big boy. And when i laid him down and tucked him in, he laid board still and was afraid to move.

It took him a little while to fall asleep but he made it all night! And when he woke up he didn’t get out of bed. Success!
