I love Easter. I love learning more about Jesus’ death, the days after, then His resurrection. It’s the absolute most golorious thing that has ever happened, EVER, and i am so humbled that God loves us enough to do something so amazing for us. I have gained such a more meaningful understanding of Easter through BSF. And to hear my children talk about how “Jesus died on the cross for us” makes my heart want to burst.
We had our first Easter at Joys house last weekend. We had a yummy dinner and the kids baskets overflowed with treats of all kinds.
Parker tried a black jelly bean and was not a fan.
We went to gtown the next day and dyed eggs. My kids are not super artsy and didn’t last that long, but the ones they made were cute:)
Thursday the kids had egg hunts at their preschool. Parker made bunny ears and surprisingly wore them all morning, telling us “i got bunnies”. He only wanted the big eggs, but Mrs Shelley helped evenly distribute them after the hunt that lasted all of 90 seconds:)
Ainsleys wasn’t as chaotic, but still went quickly since the weather moved them all inside. She knew she could only have 12 eggs so was careful to stop hunting when she got her 12:)
Saturday morning we went to the annual Easter egg hunt at mallard point. I made the mistake of telling Ainsley there was a golden egg and she decided she had to find it. As luck would have it, she found it behind a rock in the mud and muck. She had never been happier and cashed in her egg for five whole dollars!
Ainsley’s $5 burned a hole in her little pocket so we went to meijer AND target for her to find something special (she also had some birthday money in her piggy bank).
Easter morning the kids got baskets and the books were such a hit!
We got dressed up for church and attempted pictures before we left but the itchiness of tights was just too much.
Church was awesome, and we managed to snag a few non tearful pictures.
We went to mom and dads for Easter lunch. We ate some delicious food, laughed a lot, then did another egg hunt (in the basement due to weather again).
We hung out in gtown bc matt and Philip left for a 2 night camping trip at the Gorge. Not the best weather and tonight at bedtime Ainsley prayed “please help daddy not to get rain on his mouth, nose, or eyes. And help Uncle Bubby to not get rain on his head or face”.
Thankful for so much this weekend. For family, time together, but most of all that Jesus took on our punishment so that we could live with Him forever. Death where is your sting!
