I realize this is almost 3 weeks late. and that I have an awesome vacation blog to write about. but first I wanted to share some pics from our fourth!

We didn't do much this year. Usually we get together with some of Philip's friends but for whatever reason it didn't pan out this year and on the day of the 4th we decided to just spend the day together as a family. we also realized- we needed fireworks! We went downtown to the festivities, where ainsley ate tons of kettle corn. We had missed the parade and a lot of the kid friendly activities but philip had worked the night before so had to sleep. It was still fun and good people watching:)
We grilled out and ate dinner at home, then did some fireworks with Ainsley before she went to bed. We would have loved to have let her stay up and watch some real fireworks but it didn't get dark until like 930 and there is no way she could stay up that long. girl likes her sleep (thank goodness).
She wasn't overly impressed with the fireworks but was at least intrigued by them.

We also got a fantastic show right from our back porch! Several people had the good illegal fireworks and were setting them off so that we could see the sky light up from several different views. It was so relaxing to sit on our back porch and watch them. There are perks to living in Hamburg after all :)
