Summer!

Yes, i have been “blog absent”. But it’s because we have been living our social lives again! The governor lifted the mask mandate in June and we have been soaking up play dates, swimming in the pool, sports, church, family, all the things:)

Parker finished his soccer season and declared he now wants to play flag football and basketball. He is still doing his ninja class and has his first competition next week. He is pumped and hoping to bring home a medal. Ainsley has moved up to competitive team in gymnastics and the jury is still out if she will muster the courage to compete. She’s learning a lot and getting better and better, but we knew the competition aspect would not be something she would look forward to. Regardless she is becoming stronger both physically and socially. We’re very proud of her for doing something that isn’t the most comfortable for her.

We have spent a lot of time at the lake. A house Philip declared long ago that he “would buy if it ever goes for sale” , went for sale. One of my best friends Karen is a realtor and really busted her tail to help us. Long story short, we now own a lake house:)

We spent the 4th of July at the lake house where we cleaned, scrubbed, stocked, played and became water logged. The start of many memories we hope to have at this house.

We are trying to maintain a balance of slowing down like 2020 taught us to do, while also maintaining our friendships that were on hold for a year.

Thankful that we are starting to move past COVID-19 finally and looking forward to what the rest of the summer holds!
