Life Lately

After birthday celebrations February calmed down for us. Especially when we had a surprise 2 days off from school due to illness! Ainsley and I had a girls morning where we went to the mall, lunch, and Target. Wearing our matching sweatshirts of course:)

We hung out at home and Baby Charlotte stopped by for a visit :)

Friday we woke up to SNOW! Had we not already been off from school, we probably would have been then.
The kids were dying to get out and play in it. I managed to hold them off until 8:00 when I let them wake Philip up and coerce him to get dressed and play in it:)

We met the Burtons at the Y pool where they played and burned off energy (Parker getting hurt, of course), then begged to come home and warm up in my bath tub.

That evening we met the Stearley at the movie tavern for a showing of Sleeping Beauty.

Parker is getting better at better at basketball, but we are still working on dribbling and playing defense.

Ainsley and Philip attended their 5th Her Knight dance. Philip said this was the best one yet. He said Ainsley actually danced and just wanted to be with him as opposed to her friends. They went to a nice dinner with the Donovans and Brownings beforehand, then headed to Keeneland.
They were both so joyful when they got home.

She really got to go on a special date- in the Audi!

While they were dancing the night away, Parker and I had a date to Gattitown. We chowed down on pizza, played games, and won crappy prizes. He had to learn the hard way that thats what happens when Mom wins tickets.

It has rained almost all month and we are crossing our fingers we might get snow one more time this week.

Valentines Day was celebrated with lots of sugar, heart shaped pizza, and a date night for Philip and I.

I'm not gonna lie I was pretty proud of my pickle bouquet.

Ainsley made us breakfast in her easy bake oven and was quite proud of her creation, as she should be, it was delicious.

Parker had his friend Sam over while Ainsley went with his sister Molly to gymnastics. he was the cutest - preparing things for them to play with, laying out costumes for them, and showing Sam where everything was. I was so proud of my little host!

Hoping we have one more snow day. So we can all be as chill as Maxwell.

Ainsley’s Birthday Weekend

I presented Ainsley with several cute choices of party themes, Frozen 2 not being one of them, and she was adamant she wanted a Frozen 2 party. Girl loves her princesses. She also had been asking to have it a gym called The Academy. Which I actually like and enjoy taking the kids there. So the planning began!

She kicked off her weekend by bringing doughnuts to her class at school. She woke up super early Friday morning because her Spanish teacher celebrates birthdays in her class by having the student tell the class their favorite animal and color, and each student draws a picture for the birthday child and it’s made into a book. I actually remember my kindergarten teacher doing this. So Ainsley was so excited. Only to find out her Spanish teacher was sick and had a sub. Ainsley was devastated, there were tears, but her other teacher and friends made up for it!

That night we met Mom, Dad, Matt & family at Pucchinis for her annual birthday dinner.

The next morning she woke up so excited for her birthday and her party. Sweet Parker picked out a present for her and wrapped it all by himself (he gets his wrapping skills from his Pop).

We ate white powdered doughnuts per her request, played with her new gifts, and started getting ready for her party.

Parker was ‘allowed’ to invite his friend Sam who is one of Ainsleys friends brother. They kept to themselves and built forts.

That night we met the Wilhoite clan at Mi Casita to celebrate Auntie Jo. The waiters brought out hats and ice cream for the birthday girls and sang to them in Spanish. Ainsley was mortified. She smiled through her tears and even laughed when they put whipped cream on her nose. But she has declared she is not, under any circumstances, ever going back to that place.

She ended her birthday wrapped up in her new robe from Gramma Joy and saying “Birthdays are the best”. I was so happy that she felt loved and celebrated.

Monday she woke up early again so happy to get her birthday book, to find her teacher still sick. Tuesday brought the infamous birthday book and she ran out of school with the biggest smile on her face!

Our baby girl is 7 and we loved celebrating her. We are so grateful for all of the love, laughs, joy, and fun to our lives!
