Ainsleys Birthday Weekend

It was another fun filled birthday weekend this year for Miss Ainsley. Her birthday fell on a Friday this year and she had “cold temperature” days on the Wednesday and Thursday before. We made 30 birthday treats and were hoping for school on Friday!

Per her request we made “rainbow Krispies” with rings attached (because “all the other girls at school put rings on their cupcakes for their birthday”). She told her teacher she didn’t want them to sing happy birthday to her because she doesn’t like people looking at her. I mean, who’s child is this?!

That night we ended up having dinner with Nanny Pop Uncle Bubby and fam at her favorite place Pucchinis. Nanny made cupcakes and the girls played with some of her new Barbie toys. She didn’t let us sing to her.

That morning she woke up to presents, balloons and doughnuts. She got to open one present and saved the rest for after school. She DID let us sing to her!  I walked her into school with her treats for her class, and Mr Brooks stopped and asked her to bring him one later, which she did;)

We surprised her at school and had lunch with her. Parker packed his lunch too and thought he was such a big boy eating with sissy at her school.

When she got home she got to open her gifts from us. An Easy Bake Oven and accessories. At first she didn’t want to bake in it because it would get dirty. But then she got on board and made a batch of chocolate cookies with rainbow sprinkles!

Then it was time to get ready for her Daddy Daughter dance! She looks forward to this all year. She met up with her friends Avery and Kk for dinner then they went to Keeneland for the dance. Dinner was apparently a little loud and crazy. But she had a great time and loved dancing with her daddy.

They got home late but were both so happy with their special night together.

The next day was Ainsleys birthday party! She had requested an art party and had asked for me to make it happen at our house. Um, no. I booked a really cool art/play studio. She was also very specific about only wanting girls this year. And only 10 girls so that she didn’t have too many people looking at her. She chose rainbows and unicorns as her theme and they made the cutest craft of fairy wishing jars!

This place was awesome! They had stations set up as the girls got there ; sparkly play dough cupcakes, shaving cream& glitter, orbees, painting wall, coloring wall, and chalkboards. I swear i think Parker was in his own little heaven!

We ended the weekend with hosting a super bowl party with Philips football friends, of which i took ZERO pictures. I did however eat a ton of yummy food.

Ainsley said she had a super fun weekend and we did too. Her party was just what she wanted it to be and she was able to be comfortable yet feel celebrated. She reminded everyone all weekend that it was “her birthday so she got to do — {fill in the blank}”. Maybe she is my child after all ;)

Life Lately

2019 is off to a good start !

Parker moved up to a new room in preschool. He surprisingly loves it and tells everyone he is a big boy in the yellow room.

Ainsley is back into kindergarten full swing, but before she started back she had one of her old preschool friends over for a play date. Jaxon apparently refers to Ainsley as his girlfriend:)

We had a late Christmas celebration with Aunt Ellen bc she was sick almost the whole week of Christmas :(

Parker has been working on his baseball and basketball skills. I know I’m biased, but the kid has some serious hand eye coordination!

Ainsley started gymnastics and really seems to enjoy it. Her friend Piper is in class with her which helps.

We finally got some snow and i was able to hold the kids off until 8:45 before waking up Philip to help them build a snow man and have a snowball fight. It wasn’t super cold out and the snow was perfect packing snow.

And of course we made snow cream (twice).

Ainsley had a birthday party at Malibu Jacks and we had a lot of fun just the two of us. She even somehow convinced me to get on a ride that almost made me puke.

This past weekend was one of the best we have had in awhile. Months ago we got tickets to see the Harlem Globetrotters, knowing Parker would love it. And then several weeks ago we got free tickets to the UK gymnastics excite night. So we made two trips to Rupp Arena this weekend and we all had a blast.

Friday night we went out to dinner then to watch the gymnasts. We ended up 4 rows from the floor, which was awesome considering Ainsleys school had given us free tickets! Ainsley said the uneven bars were her favorite and Parker said his favorite was the escalator.

Then on Sunday we went back for a much different experience with the globetrotters. Ainsley was very leery of the opposing team (the bad guys) and i was even a little leery of getting water sprayed on us from one of the players. It was very entertaining and interactive and i think we all really enjoyed it.

And in between those nights we had make your own pizza night with the Sarlls family.

See?! A super fun weekend. Feeling very blessed and content after some good quality time this weekend.

We’ve also had some random fun moments i don’t want to forget so I’ll add those pics too:)
